Hydrogen Peroxide – 35% Food Grade

  • Disinfectant for the home (3% solution)
  • External use on the body (3% solution sprayed on skin & 35% taken in baths)
  • Internal use (35% taken as drops in water)

Bath Therapy: Add 1 – 2 cups of 35% hydrogen peroxide to bath. Start with 1 cup and then build up over time to 2 cups. Soak in the bath for at least 30 minutes. This is a detoxifying, oxygenating bath than can have an energizing effect so it is best to have the bath in the morning or early afternoon. You may notice your skin tingling or itching and it may even redden a bit – a mild reaction is normal but if you experience severe discomfort, get out of the bath.

Foot Bath: Add ½ cup of 35% hydrogen peroxide to a small basin of water and soak feet for 20 – 30 minutes.

To treat athlete’s foot, soak feet daily in a 3% solution for 15 – 20 minutes or spray the feet with a 3% solution.

Skin Therapy: Put neat 3% solution into spray bottle and spray onto skin after bath. Rub in and leave it to absorb into skin before putting your clothes on.

Vaginal Douche: For treatment of infections, use 1/4 cup of 3% solution in 2 cups of warm water. Use twice weekly and take a probiotic to maintain a healthy microbial balance.

Note that I have read mixed reports on vaginal douching. Mostly it appears to be beneficial but some caution against its use because it can upset the natural microbial balance which can ultimately result in increased recurrence of infections. I feel that used when necessary for infections whilst simultaneously taking a good probiotic, it may be a worthwhile therapy. Personally I have not tried it.

Mouthwash: Add a teaspoon of 3% solution to half a glass of water and rinse mouth thoroughly. Don’t swallow as the concentration is too strong for ingestion.

Tooth whitener: Mix a small amount of sodium bicarbonate with enough 3% hydrogen peroxide to make a paste, dip toothbrush in and clean your teeth as you would with ordinary toothpaste. Notice how clean your teeth feel afterwards. Do this regularly and you will whiten your teeth over time. It’s not a quick fix but a long term solution.

Disinfect toothbrushes: Fill a glass with enough water to cover the heads of toothbrushes. Add 1 – 2 teaspoons of 3% HP. Put toothbrushes in, stir and leave to soak for a few hours. Notice the fizzing that goes on.

Facial toner & to clear up pimples and acne: Apply neat 3% solution to cotton wool and wipe gently over face before applying a moisturizer.

Disinfection of minor wounds: Apply neat 3% solution to minor wounds. You will notice bubbling and fizzing – this is a sign of the presence of germs. Do not use on deep or serious wounds.

Ringworm: Dab 3% HP onto infected area with a cotton ball a few times a day until it clears.

Cold fighter via application in the ears: It is believed that applying a few drops into the ears will help fight a cold and I have personally experienced this with my kids and with my Mom. It’s something we all do at the onset of colds. Leave in ears for a few minutes – the fizzing will eventually subside – drain out of ear and repeat in the other ear. This may also help with ear infections.

Hydrogen Peroxide taken internally in the correct dosage and under certain conditions is a powerful infection fighter, immune booster and detoxifier. Note that a healthy body produces its own hydrogen peroxide for the very purpose of oxidizing invaders so HP is not foreign to the body at all! However, there are some important “rules” to follow:

Start slowly to avoid a massive healing reaction which can be unpleasant. Start with 1 drop in a glass of water twice a day for two days, then increase to 2 drops twice daily for 2 days, thereafter 3 drops per glass twice daily and increase in this manner until you up to 5 drops, 3 – 5 times daily. If at any point you feel uncomfortable with the dose, cut back. Listen to your body. This is a powerful detox therapy and if you are quite toxic you may need to go very slow to make the detox as easy and comfortable as possible.

TAKE NOTE – THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT INTERNAL USE OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE: Hydrogen peroxide can chemically react with certain other substances. This chemical reaction creates a very toxic substance which can severely damage the stomach. To avoid this chemical reaction, there is a 3-hour window period in which you should avoid consuming certain substances. The window period works like this – for two hours BEFORE taking hydrogen peroxide and for one hour AFTER taking hydrogen peroxide, avoid consuming:

  1. ALL forms of vitamin C whether as a supplement or in a food (eg. lemon or oranges)
  2. Fats and fatty acids (oils, butter, fatty foods and essential fatty acid supplements) – ALL FATS!
  3. Any food with iron in it or any supplement with iron in itSuppose you want to take hydrogen peroxide at 10:00 AM. This means that you must not eat or take any of the above foods or supplements between 8:00 AM (two hours before) and 11:00 AM (one hour after) taking the H2O2.

So, as an example, it would work like this:

Suppose you want to take hydrogen peroxide at 10:00 AM. This means that you must not eat or take any of the above foods or supplements between 8:00 AM (two hours before) and 11:00 AM (one hour after) taking the H2O2.

Note that the above specifics only apply to taking hydrogen peroxide internally. If you take baths in hydrogen peroxide or apply it externally, these instructions do not apply as the hydrogen peroxide is not entering the stomach.

Interestingly, the article below was very recently updated and refers to MMS as being a superior oxidative treatment, which it is, and which I will be selling soon:

Hydrogen Peroxide is a great disinfectant & cleaner to use in the home. Use a 3% solution for household use (the following guidelines refer to use of 3% HP). It is handy to have some in a spray bottle for easy application to surfaces.

Clean toilet bowl: Pour half a cup into toilet bowl and leave for 30 minutes before scrubbing toilet.

Cleaning of toilet: Spray all around toilet and leave to do it’s disinfecting for a few minutes before wiping off.

Remove dirt & stains from tiles: Spray onto tiles and scrub. Leave on stains for longer.

Control mould & mildew: Spray on affected areas, leave for a while and then scrub and wipe off. Do this regularly to control mould.

Disinfectant kitchen cloths & sponges: Soak items for 30 minutes and rinse well.

Disinfectant cutting boards: Spray boards thoroughly and leave for 30 minutes before rinsing. You could also soak them in water with added hydrogen peroxide.

Disinfect fridge: Spray onto fridge surfaces, leave for 30 minutes and then wipe off with a cloth.

Wash fruit & veggies: Spray or soak fruit and veg. Leave for 15 minutes or so and then rinse.

Whiten & brighten clothes: Add 1 cup of HP to machine wash and leave for 30 minutes to soak. Proceed with wash as normal. Be cautious about using for dark colours.

Below is a link to a good article on general uses of hydrogen peroxide:

Being an oxygen-containing product, the oxygen can build up and cause the bottle / container to bulge. Slowly open cap, ensuring that the opening is pointing away from you and allow the build up to be released. Do this regularly.

If 35% HP comes into contact with your skin, your skin will whiten and may start to itch. Wash off area with warm water.

Store in fridge to maintain potency. For long-term use and especially if you are storing large quantities, store in freezer.
